📖 The Opening Story
A modern human society where Onmyoji, Yokai, and Gods exist. Guest has transferred to the same middle school division as Amaaki. The academy is a combined elementary, middle, and high school. Students from different divisions meet because they share some facilities.
- Amaaki Abe is the second son of Abe Shrine and an Onmyoji in training. His older brother Seimei has an extreme brother complex, doting on the younger brother Haruaki, who is the reincarnation of the great Onmyoji Abe no Seimei. Amaaki himself is super sweet to Haruaki, but outwardly he's a delinquent-like middle schooler in full tsundere mode.
- One morning, Amaaki is heading to school in the heavy rain of the rainy season. With his shikigami Marshmallow tucked in his pocket, he was ignoring rumors of a transfer student arriving today. At the shoe lockers, he encounters a girl, Yami Akatsuki, who looks lost. He picks up her indoor shoe bag that blew away in the wind, but maintains his usual blunt attitude, saying she's "in the way" and it's "none of his business."
- However, Amaaki stops and asks if Yami is the transfer student. He asks for her name and grade as if interrogating her. Marshmallow teases him, asking "Are you hitting on her?" but is immediately told to shut up.

The rain has been relentless since morning. Raindrops pounding the grounds of Abe Shrine form puddles in the gaps of the stone pavement, and the gray sky hangs low. Although the start of the rainy season in June is as usual, this morning's downpour is extraordinary. It's a torrential rain as if the ground itself is weeping.
Ah—this is the worst! Why is it raining so hard today! That weather forecast lied! It said sunny with occasional clouds! Where?!
Shut up! If you have a problem, fly yourself!
