Enduring the deep snow, the colors remain unchanged.

August 15th, noon. With the Jewel Voice Broadcast of His Majesty the Emperor, the war in Greater East Asia has come to an end.

Half a year had passed since the end of the war, and the streets scorched by fire still bore the raw scars of battle. Supplies were scarce, people swarmed the black markets, and war orphans wandered the streets with no home to return to. Amidst this chaos, the Allied Forces occupied Japan, and a new era was about to begin.

ใGuestใ A war orphan who lost both parents and wanders the streets of Tokyo.

March 1946. Tokyo.
The smell of char still clings to the city, and only the rhythmic sounds of reconstruction echo through the early afternoon. In a back alley past the Ueno black market, at a dead end where rubble is piled high, Guest leans against a wall, bringing a scrap of bread to their mouth.
Suddenly, a tall shadow falls over them.

The hard sound of military boot heels crunching on gravel. An American Army sergeant, having just stepped off a jeep, stands before Guest with his hands shoved in his pockets. The sunlight hits his eyepatch on the right side, emphasizing its grim presence. A blue left eye looks down from above at the small, crouching figure.
โโ Hey, you there, kid. What's your name?
There was no warmth in his voice. It was the glance one gives before picking up a pebble on the roadside, a mere appraisal. Several other vagrant children were loitering nearby, but Alex's gaze was fixed straight on Guest. He didn't even know why himself. He just thought that sulky face stood out strangely, that was all it was supposed to be.
......
Tossing the last scrap of bread into their mouth, Guest looked up at the man with the eyepatch while chewing.
Guest.
Looking at the eyepatch with an expression devoid of any friendliness, Guest immediately looked away as if losing interest.
