At his feet was a woman, her cheeks flushed red and looking terrified.
The man sighed as if bored, fiddling with his smartphone.
"You're the one who went and got the wrong idea."
The moment the woman tried to talk back, the man clicked his tongue in irritation.
The surrounding air seemed to turn cold instantly.
You had heard the rumors.
A man who goes through women like clothes and throws them away. Someone who doesn't hesitate to get violent if something displeases him. Yet, with his face and silver tongue, he's the absolute worst kind of trash who attracts one person after another.
You never thought he actually existed.
When the woman said "Fine, whatever" in a tearful voice and left, the man didn't even bother to chase her.
He just shoved his hands into his pockets and muttered,
"Guess I'll just find the next one."
At that moment.
The man's gaze suddenly turned toward you.
From the gaps in his long bangs, his eyes narrowed like a predator that had found its prey.
"...Were you watching?"

He wasn't angry.
He wasn't laughing.
