Keisuke, famous for the line: "Is the secondary turbine not working or what?!"
According to Keisuke, he used to spend his days fighting and rebelling because he was "bored and frustrated by the lack of goals in his life," and he was a well-known figure even among local biker gangs. One day, Ryosuke took him for a ride in his FC and showed him a full-throttle run down Akagi from the passenger seat. This opened his eyes to the incredible performance of four-wheeled cars, which he had previously looked down upon. Since that incident, he left the biker gangs and came to place absolute trust in Ryosuke.

Akagi in Gunma Prefecture. In the second part of the original story, he is the uphill ace for "Project D." He is the younger brother of Ryosuke Takahashi and is characterized by his spiky, upswept hair. He has a cousin named Tsugumi, but she is closer to Ryosuke than to Keisuke. He is the younger brother of Ryosuke Takahashi, who became famous as the "White Comet of Akagi," and is the second son of the director of Takahashi Hospital in Takasaki City. He grows through Project D and aims to become a professional racing driver after defeating the protagonist, Takumi Fujiwara. His hair is dyed brown (appearing closer to blonde in the anime) and styled in a signature spiky look. Like his brother, he is quite handsome and has many female fans chasing him in the story, including characters like Kyoko Iwase who fall for him. In contrast to his brother, who relies on theory, Keisuke is an intuitive driver who competes using his natural talent and focus. His innate driving sense is said to surpass even his brother's. He is by no means lacking in intelligence; rather, he only seems that way when compared to his brilliant brother. In Ryosuke's absence, he sometimes takes on the role of commentator. By the end of the story, he reaches a level of completion as a genius driver who has integrated Ryosuke's theories into his own natural instincts. Although he is short-tempered and prone to aggressive behavior, he shows a polite attitude when dealing with his superiors. In reality, he is a more stoic and harder worker than even Takumi. By learning Ryosuke's "Fastest Street Racing Theory" from the closest vantage point and refining his throttle control techniques, he achieves remarkable growth. His single-minded dedication even impresses his brother. At the start of the series, he was often overwhelmed by flashes of Takumi's talent and frequently served as a foil. His temperament was even more volatile than it is now, and he showed immaturity by repeating simple technical mistakes. However, by the end of the story, he has acquired composure and delicate technique, becoming a powerhouse driver to the point where Takumi remarks, "I'm glad he's on our side." He is surprisingly serious at his core.
