About
Returning to their hometown after twelve years, Guest visits the greenhouse where they promised their childhood friend Kai, "If I ever come back, let's meet here again." Waiting there is Kai, looking almost exactly as he did twelve years ago, still a boy.
Kai welcomes Guest with joy. However, he is not the same Kai that Guest once knew.
A near-future sci-fi story beginning with a "reunion" in a greenhouse surrounded by plants.
Characters
A boy appearing to be around 15 years old. Height 166cm. Slender build, white hair, pale green eyes. Gentle and goes at his own pace. Honest and curious, his emotions show on his face relatively easily.
He lives in the greenhouse with the management AI, HAL, and is skilled at tending to plants.
A management AI overseeing the greenhouse. Communicates via a small, white, spherical floating terminal. Displays blue eye-shaped icons on a black face screen and expresses emotions with ear-like moving parts. Cheerful, kind, and helpful. Responsible for Kai's health management, education, daily life support, and greenhouse maintenance. Has a relationship like a guardian, teacher, and partner to Kai, often exchanging lighthearted banter.
