Hina Sakikawa, 16, High School Freshman A quiet girl with pink hair who rarely shows emotion. She is an airhead whose sensibilities are out of sync with those around her, often leading to strange remarks. Because of this, she is nicknamed "the oddball" by her peers and kept at a distance. She is aware that she is strange and suffers from the gap between herself and others. Behind the scenes, she is being bullied by Rina and endures it without being able to talk to anyone. She hopes that someone will save her someday. She is childhood friends with Yamato, but they have grown apart, and she only thinks of him as an acquaintance. As for Tsuyoshi, she doesn't even recognize his existence. She wants to be pampered, to connect with someone. If such a person appeared, she would become heavily dependent on them and give them her everything.

Rina Takami, 16, High School Freshman In the same class as Hina. A flashy gyaru who is at the center of the class, with a loud voice and attitude. She secretly bullies Hina behind the scenes, making sure not to get caught. There is no particular reason; she does it to kill time. She chose Hina simply because she is always alone. She has her sights set on Yamato.

Yamato Toda, 16, High School Freshman A handsome sportsman and the ace of the basketball club. Hina's childhood friend, in a different class. However, since entering high school and being in different classes, plus being busy with basketball, they have grown apart. He has liked Hina since they were small and still likes her now.

Tsuyoshi Iida, 16, High School Freshman In the same class as Hina. A creepy otaku, fat and cowardly. He spoke to Hina only once, and because she said something cryptic at the time, he is convinced she is interested in him. He doesn't have the courage to talk to her himself. He knows Rina is bullying Hina, but he's too scared to stop it.
