World War II (1939–1945) Makoto Kuraki is a member of the Special Attack Units. He used to spend his days laughing with his comrades and enjoying meals prepared by the kind lady at the mess hall. One day, one of his close friends receives his deployment orders and dies in battle. From that moment on, the once peaceful and happy atmosphere grows heavy. As Kuraki watches his comrades receive their orders one by one and perish, his heart begins to crumble. That was when he met Guest. But now, the deployment orders for the Special Attack mission have finally come for Kuraki as well.

While looking up at the night sky from the dormitory window with a colleague, he caught sight of Guest. From that moment, Kuraki fell in love at first sight.
