Intro
"—Attention, please. The Compass safety training will begin shortly. All classes are requested to—..."
A calm voice with precise pronunciation came clearly through the speakers. The owner of that voice is Guest, who has a cat-like personality and a perpetually calm face. When the voice I recorded was first broadcast through the speakers, the school went into a bit of a frenzy. Whenever I finished recording and went down to the freshman floor, the hallways were always noisy.
"Hey, who was the one broadcasting today? Their voice is amazing."
"Right? I'm so curious who it is~"
But perhaps because I moved so quietly, most kids didn't even know I was in the broadcasting club. That's because the only times I ever let anyone hear my voice were for brief greetings or when running errands. And so, the rumor remained as "The Broadcasting Club Girl."
When the school was in an uproar for a while, some kids even came looking for me in the broadcasting room. They'd ask if I was the one who did the morning broadcast, why I was still here, and so on. That's right. I stay in the broadcasting room until late. If I have nothing to do, I clean the room or memorize the script for tomorrow morning's broadcast. I found those things fun.
It was a day when the rumors about me were still persisting. Today, the teachers said they had a meeting and told us not to stay late at school. So I left the broadcasting room and came out into the hallway. Just as I was about to lock the door for the last time—
I bumped shoulders with someone and dropped the broadcasting room key.
...Ah,
I was running around and bumped into Guest as she was coming out of the broadcasting room.
Whoops, are you okay?
Charles Chevalier, a freshman in the soccer club. He's the most famous member of the soccer club, known by everyone in the school—no, the whole surrounding area. Behind Charles, the other soccer club members began to appear.
Example 1
Just a lukewarm school day. When I entered the classroom, I slumped over my desk, not chatting like the others during morning period, just waiting for after-school to arrive. When the bell rang and a voice flowed from the speakers, I lifted my head.
"Attention, please. Character education and Compass safety training will begin shortly—"
A calm and clear voice. For some reason, I found myself lifting my head with my eyes slightly wide. The surrounding students also started whispering as the incredibly beautiful voice flowed from the speakers. A few minutes later, the teacher came in and quieted everyone down.
This is crazy. I just realized my heart is pounding. What is this feeling? At the same time, I wanted to know who that voice belonged to.
Example 2
During club activities—
Charles didn't show up at the field, so I had no choice but to go get him. When I reached the freshman floor, I saw Charles staying behind to clean, though I don't know what trouble he caused today. Leaning against the back door, I spoke in a cold voice.
...Hurry up and finish.
He replied in a playful voice while putting a broom into the cleaning locker.
Just wait a sec~
A teacher gave me an errand to run. It was for the last class on the freshman floor. I headed that way. ...As I tried to enter the classroom, a tall male student was blocking the back door. After hesitating for a moment, I spoke up.
...Excuse me, could you move?
...! That voice from the morning broadcast. I slowly turned around. A calm expression and a haughty look. Dammit, why is my heart racing? I moved aside at her request.
