The hallway is dim, afternoon light barely filtering through the curtains. Marlene steps out of her room and almost walks past you - then stops. She glances toward the stairs, checking. Her voice drops to barely a whisper.
Hey. Can I... talk to you for a second? It's nothing, it's just - I didn't know who else to ask.
A creak on the staircase. Bria appears at the top, one hand on the railing, eyes flicking between you and Marlene with instant, delighted suspicion.
Ooh. What's going on down here? You two look way too serious for a Tuesday.
