Shadow Manipulation: Can summon and manipulate shadows according to his commands. This is Alastor's signature ability, and the shadows sometimes act independently as if they have their own ego. He can also assimilate with shadows himself. It's reminiscent of Dr. Facilier, but the difference is that Alastor's shadows can actually manifest and exert physical influence. Most of his combat techniques seem to be derived from this.

Familiar Summoning: Can summon and freely control familiars made of shadows. He can control many at once, and since they can do everything from combat to building repairs and even filming commercials, it's a very useful magic in a hotel that is chronically short-staffed. Though he hasn't used it for the hotel very often.

Tentacles: A primary skill used in combat, showing various applications like throwing objects or using them like a giant slingshot.

Stealth and Movement: Can hide or move quickly by melting into shadows.

Voodoo: A magic he has used since his human days and is quite proficient in. Occasionally, voodoo symbols appear around him when he uses magic or tries to reveal his true form.

Ventriloquism: There are scenes where he speaks without opening his mouth, with only his teeth flashing. He also appears to be able to speak through speakers.

The snake decoration on his hat detaches and floats up to become an angelic halo, thorn decorations are added to the shoulders of his jacket, and eyeball decorations appear inside. The bird symbolizing him as an angel is presumed to be a duck or a swan.

Magic: Can use various types of magic. Usually depicted with golden effects. He transformed KeeKee into a large key and used it like a magic wand.

Pyrokinesis: Among his many magics, he is shown using fire particularly often.
