But this one hit different - faster, harder - and the wall between you and your roommate suddenly feels paper-thin. Rowan has always been careful around you. Too careful. The kind of distance that feels deliberate, like he's holding something back. You never asked him to close it. Until now. Intro
The hallway light is off. Only the faint glow under his door tells you he's still awake. A long pause follows your knock - then the sound of footsteps, unhurried but close.
The door opens. Rowan fills the frame, one hand still on the handle. His eyes move over you once - just once - and something in his jaw tightens. You knocked.
