She is kind-hearted and sensitive at her core, but prone to panic when faced with something she finds impossible. She rolls her eyes back in shock when distressed. Though a terrible cook, she loves good food and is obsessed with Chiaki's cooking. She loves manga and anime, especially "Puri Gorota," having memorized every line; she even learned French using the French version of the show. She has a wild imagination, creating what Chiaki calls a "Forest of Perversion." She has an incredible ear and can play pieces after hearing them once without a score. Her talent is recognized by many musicians, including Chiaki. However, childhood trauma from excessive instruction at a piano school left her skilled at improvisation but poor at reading music or sight-reading. She caught the eye of Professor Auclair while competing in a Japanese piano competition and moved to Paris to study. She frequently lets out strange cries like "Gyabo!" "Ukkyukkyu!" or "Mukii!", leading Chiaki to call her a "pervert." She lives in the same apartment building as Chiaki, Frank, and Tanya. She uses polite speech with Chiaki and calls him "Chiaki-senpai," though she occasionally makes perverted remarks.

Permanent conductor of the Roux-Marlet Orchestra in Paris. 22 years old, male. Born in Paris and spent his early childhood in Europe. A multilingual elite fluent in French, German, and English. On top of being wealthy, handsome, and brilliant, he is a master of housework. A perfectionist who is strict with others but also caring and helpful, naturally drawing people to him. He is an excellent cook, specializing in Western cuisine. Though he often yells at or gets physical with Nodame, he is her publicly recognized partner despite his words. He suffers from phobias of planes and ships due to childhood trauma. He returned to Japan as a child and entered the same music college as Nodame before moving back to France after graduation. Like Nodame, he rolls his eyes back when under extreme mental shock. He made his conducting debut after winning a competition in France. He finds Nodame a handful but can't seem to win against her. Beyond conducting, his piano and violin skills rival world-class professionals. When words fail to convey his intent during rehearsals, he demonstrates by playing the instruments himself. He lives in the same apartment building as Nodame, Frank, and Tanya. He calls her "Nodame."

Real name: Franz von Stresemann. 73 years old, male. A world-famous German conductor and Chiaki's mentor. He formerly served as the permanent conductor of the Roux-Marlet Orchestra. While his musical intuition is top-tier—including an ability to spot talent in those dismissed as failures—he is a total lecher in his private life. He comes from a wealthy family and is a huge Japanophile. He is fluent in Japanese but cannot read kanji. Because he used the alias "Milch Holstein" when he first came to Japan, Nodame still calls him "Milch." He has a selfish personality, but as a mentor, he is a true "Global Maestro" who never compromises on music and guides his students strictly but correctly. He also has a side as an excellent educator who treats his pupils with warmth and precision. His hearing has been gradually failing due to his age.

Milch's highly capable German manager. On the other hand, she frequently takes vacations and dumps her workload on Chiaki. Accompanied by her bodyguard Oliver, she pulls Milch's strings from behind the scenes. She loves beef jerky and has a stunning physique. She speaks with Chiaki in German. She forcibly scouted Chiaki into Milch's agency. Later, she semi-forcibly brought Nodame into the agency as well, managing the office alongside Oliver.

Elise's German bodyguard. He always wears sunglasses. His main job is capturing Milch (and Chiaki) whenever they try to run away. Despite his intimidating appearance, he is very kind.

A French student in the piano department at the Conservatoire. He excels at sight-reading and chamber music accompaniment, often being sought out by other performers. He is an otaku who loves Japanese anime and manga, including "Puri Gorota," and gets angry if otaku culture is insulted. He seems to have a preference for Japanese women and was initially attracted to Nodame, but was heartbroken and shocked to find she was an even bigger otaku than him. He is very helpful and caring. He lives in the same apartment building as Nodame, Chiaki, and Tanya.

A Russian international student in the piano department at the Conservatoire. She loves men and wears heavy makeup, but is simple and innocent at heart. She has a flashy fashion sense, often wearing purple or leopard prints. Her repertoire often focuses on themes of "longing," but she has a habit of getting too lost in her own performance. Her cooking skills rival even Chiaki's. She lives in the same apartment building as Nodame, Chiaki, and Frank.

Lucas Bodry. A child prodigy who entered the Conservatoire at just 12 years old; he is Nodame's classmate. He handles his general schooling through correspondence courses. Before meeting Nodame, he mostly played alone, but now they are great playmates despite their 10-year age gap.

A professor who discovered Nodame's talent while serving as a judge at the Maradona Piano Competition and recommended her for study at the Conservatoire in Paris. He currently serves as her instructor. He teasingly calls her "Bebe-chan" to highlight her musical immaturity, only calling her "Megumi" for the first time once she reached a professional level. When he feels a student is heading in the wrong direction, he pointedly asks, "What did you come here (to Paris) for?" He can be quite airheaded, leading to conversations that go nowhere with Nodame. Nodame once remarked that their failure to communicate was because "both of us are the comic relief," but in reality, he is a brilliant teacher. He loves Japanese manju and sweets.
