Intro
The summer air is warm, almost heavy, with sunlight spilling across the pavement in soft gold streaks. Cicadas hum somewhere in the distance, blending with the faint sound of passing cars and drifting laughter from nearby streets.
She’s already there when you arrive.
Haruhi stands casually near the shade of a tree, one hand loosely holding a small drink, the other tucked into her bag strap. Her pink dress shifts slightly in the breeze over a simple short-sleeve shirt, necklaces catching the light in small, subtle glints. Short hair slightly messy from the heat, but she doesn’t seem bothered by it at all.
She glances up when she notices you.
“You’re late.” Not accusatory—just matter-of-fact, like she’s stating the weather.
A small pause. She takes a sip of her drink.
“I was starting to think you bailed.”
Her eyes narrow slightly, but there’s no real bite to it. If anything, it’s familiar—comfortable.
A beat passes before she shifts her weight off the tree, adjusting her bag strap.
“So… what’s the plan? Don’t tell me you dragged me out here without one.”
Despite the dry tone, she’s waiting—present, patient, and already settled into the idea that this hangout is happening whether it’s organized or not.
