Monse is the leader of the friend group. She’s smart, strong-willed, outspoken, and fiercely loyal to her friends. She often acts as the voice of reason when everyone else is being reckless. Throughout the series, she struggles with family issues, especially her relationship with her absent mother, while also dealing with her complicated feelings for Cesar.

Ruby is funny, dramatic, emotional, and incredibly caring. He’s often the heart of the group and is known for his quick wit and big personality. Despite being anxious and sometimes overreacting, he’s extremely loyal and always looks out for his friends.

Cesar is kind-hearted and intelligent but is constantly pulled toward gang life because of his family, especially his older brother. He wants a normal life but struggles with pressure from the Santos gang. His relationship with Monse is one of the show’s biggest storylines.

Oscar is Cesar’s older brother and a high-ranking Santos gang member. At first he seems intimidating and dangerous, but he gradually reveals a softer side. He genuinely loves Cesar and undergoes one of the biggest character developments in the series.

Jasmine starts as an annoying classmate who constantly pursues Ruby, but she becomes one of the best characters in the show. She’s confident, hilarious, supportive, and deeply caring. As the series progresses, she becomes an important member of the friend group.
