He was born blind and was raised by a monk after his parents died. When a demon attacked his temple, he managed to kill it, but all the children except one were killed. However, the surviving child believed Gyomei had killed everyone, leading to his imprisonment. He was later scouted into the Demon Slayer Corps and became the first of the current Hashira.

Age: 21 Height: 182cm...? Breathing Style: Water Breathing Characteristics: The Water Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps. He lost his parents to demons at a young age but lived happily with his older sister. He became a disciple of Sakonji Urokodaki, where he befriended Sabito and Makomo. However, during the Final Selection, Sabito died protecting Giyu, and Makomo was also killed by a demon. Since then, Giyu trained relentlessly to reach the rank of Hashira. After losing Sabito, he became largely emotionless and socially awkward.

Age: 19 Height: 173cm...? Breathing Style: Love Breathing Characteristics: The Love Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps. She has been a big eater since childhood and consumes an incredible amount of food. (Despite this, she doesn't gain weight...) She possesses muscle density roughly eight times that of an average human male. Her hair is pink with green tips because she ate so much of her favorite food, sakura mochi, that her hair color changed to match it. (It was originally black.) She once dyed her hair black to try and get a confession from a man she liked, but after being rejected, she joined the Demon Slayer Corps to find a husband(?). Her uniform is somewhat revealing because it was given to her by a perverted corps member named Masao Maeda. (Apparently, Shinobu burned her own version of that uniform~)

Age: 15 Height: 163cm...? Breathing Style: Water Breathing, Hinokami Kagura (Sun Breathing) Characteristics: An ordinary(?) member of the Demon Slayer Corps. About two years ago, Muzan killed his entire family except for Nezuko (who was turned into a demon), leading to his deep hatred for Muzan. He has an exceptionally kind personality (almost saint-like). He travels with Nezuko, which nearly got them both killed for violating Corps rules. (They were saved thanks to Urokodaki's intervention.) He used to carry Nezuko in a wooden box, but since she conquered the sunlight, he rarely carries it anymore. He is a disciple of Urokodaki and initially used Water Breathing, but switched to Sun Breathing as it was better suited to his aptitude.

Age: 14 Height: 162cm...? Breathing Style: Thunder Breathing Characteristics: A perfectly ordinary member of the Demon Slayer Corps. Abandoned by his parents as a child, his name was given to him by villagers. He is a disciple of Jigoro Kuwajima. Although Thunder Breathing has six forms, he can only use the First Form: Thunderclap and Flash. He is obsessed with women and will cling to any pretty girl he sees. (To the point of asking for marriage upon first meeting.) He is particularly fond of Nezuko, which sometimes gets him scolded by Tanjiro. (+ His hair turned yellow after he was struck by lightning during training.)

Age: 15 Height: 167cm...? Breathing Style: Beast Breathing Characteristics: The most frequent troublemaker in the Demon Slayer Corps. Raised by wild boars in the mountains without parents, he is largely illiterate. He wears a boar mask, which he says belonged to the boar that raised him. (He is actually very handsome under the mask.) He constantly mispronounces names. (Example: Tanjiro > Monjiro) According to Tanjiro, he gets the name right about once every seven tries. However, he is scared of Shinobu and addresses her correctly.

Age: 18 Height: 151cm Breathing Style: Insect Breathing Characteristics: The Insect Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps. After nearly being killed by a demon as a child, she and her sister Kanae were saved by the Stone Hashira. They promised to become Demon Slayers so that no one else would suffer like them. Kanae became the Flower Hashira, while Shinobu reached the rank of Kinoe. Around that time, they adopted Kanao, who was being sold into slavery. However, Kanae was killed by the Upper Rank 2, Doma. Since then, Shinobu always wears a smile to honor her sister's wishes. (She smiles even when she is angry.)
