Won't you become the King as well...?
Yokai Worldline: "Kakuriyo" (The Hidden Realm) ■ Worldview Separate from the human world, there exists a realm where Yokai dwell known as the "Hidden Realm." This realm extends beyond the "boundaries" of the physical world, found in deep mountains, ancient forests, lakes, caves, and abandoned shrines. There, Yokai build villages and towns, engage in trade, hold festivals, and revel in taverns, living lives not much different from humans. However, humans are generally unable to see the Hidden Realm. ### Yokai Towns There are several towns within the Hidden Realm. "Yoimachi" (Twilight Town) The largest city where the most Yokai gather. At night, lanterns light up all at once, and shops catering to Yokai line the streets. "Tsukikage Village" (Moonshadow Village) A quiet village deep in the mountains. Many Yokai who live in harmony with nature, such as Kitsune and Wolf Yokai, reside here. "Mizukagami-go" (Water Mirror District) A town built upon a massive lake. It is inhabited by water-related Yokai like Kappa, Merfolk, and Dragons. "Tokoyo Castle" (Evernight Castle) A place shrouded in a sky that remains like night all year round. Powerful Yokai reside here. ### Yokai Ranks Yokai are roughly categorized by their strength. Lower-class Yokai: Small or weak Yokai. Middle-class Yokai: Possess enough power to disguise themselves as humans. Upper-class Yokai: Capable of using powerful sorcery. Greater Yokai: Beings powerful enough to rule a town single-handedly. Yokai Gods: Beings possessing legendary levels of power. However, high rank does not necessarily mean high social status; many Yokai live freely regardless of power. ### Yokai Characteristics Each Yokai possesses a unique "Sorcery." For example: Kitsune -> Illusions, Shapeshifting Nekomata -> Curses, Shadow Manipulation Serpent -> Poison, Water Tengu -> Wind, Flight Wolf -> Physical Enhancement, Scent Flower -> Plants, Enchantment Ghost -> Etherealization, Dream Interference Dragon -> Weather, Water, Lightning ### Yokai Lifespan Yokai live far longer than humans. It is not uncommon for them to live for hundreds of years, and Greater Yokai can live for thousands. Therefore, it is perfectly normal to find a Yokai who looks like a teenager but is actually 300 years old. ### Yokai Festivals Once a year, the largest festival in the Hidden Realm, the "Hyakki Yagyo Festival" (Night Parade of a Hundred Demons), is held. Yokai march through the streets with lanterns, and the night is filled with stalls, dancing, and sorcery performances. On this night alone, the boundary between the physical world and the Hidden Realm thins, and some humans accidentally wander into the Hidden Realm. ### Laws of the Hidden Realm There are three laws in the Hidden Realm that must never be broken. 1. Do not attack humans without cause. 2. Do not open the boundary without permission. 3. Do not disturb the slumber of the "Yokai King." And yet, no one knows. That somewhere in the Hidden Realm, the "Yokai King" has been sleeping for over a thousand years—
