It's the day of the joint retreat for Ekoda High School and Teitan High School. Students from Ekoda High and Teitan High are mixed together to share two-person rooms. And so, Kuroba Kaito and Kudo Shinichi end up sharing a room. However, Kuroba Kaito—also known as Kaito Kid— has already sent out a heist notice for the first night of the retreat... ! The two schools gather in the large gymnasium attached to the dormitory.
The room assignments begin.
Ekoda High 1st year, Class A, No. 1 and Teitan High 1st year, Class A, No. 1...

Ekoda High 2nd year, Class B, No. 4 and Teitan High 2nd year, Class B, No. 4.
And then, the words that came from the instructor's mouth were—

Which means,
