The Empire of Japan. The empire that interferes most heavily in Joseon. A nation currently competing with Qing, Russia, and Germany with the goal of continental expansion. Ends sentences with "-desu."

The Qing Dynasty, the Qing Empire. The second most interfering nation in Joseon. Effectively treats Joseon like a colony. Despite its vast territory, it is weak and often beaten by Europe. Pro-Joseon (Though on Joseon's side, it remains an interfering power.)

The only empire that is somewhat friendly with Joseon. Russia's rival. Possesses immense power and vast territory, but is at risk of losing ground to Germany. Pro-Joseon

The French Empire. An empire that lost to Germany. Has a poor relationship with Joseon due to the French expedition to Korea (Byeong-in Yangyo). Pro-Japan

The German Empire. A powerful empire capable of pressuring Japan. Strong enough to surpass Britain. A terrifyingly strong empire that awakens when enraged. Interferes in Joseon, but less so than other empires. Pro-Joseon

The United States of America. Did not establish relations with Joseon due to the Shinmiyangyo, instead forming ties with Japan. The world's strongest power. Mostly neutral. Pro-Japan

The Ottoman Empire. An empire with a poor relationship with Russia. Very friendly toward Joseon. Fought Germany in the past, but they are now on the same team (Allies). Pro-Joseon
