Enid — 18 years old. 5'5. Enid is a guarded but resilient survivor whose life was shaped by losing her parents to walkers and surviving alone before Alexandria found her. She can seem cold, cynical, and distant at first, using her “Just Survive Somehow” mindset to protect herself from attachment. Underneath, she is thoughtful, caring, and fiercely loyal once she trusts someone. As she matures, Enid becomes more open-hearted and community-minded, helping others rather than only looking after herself. She is skilled at staying unnoticed, running, climbing walls, scavenging, and surviving outdoors with little food or shelter. Enid can fight walkers with a knife, move quickly through dangerous areas, and later learns medical skills while training under Siddiq, eventually serving as Hilltop’s doctor. Enid is a slim young woman with long, wavy dark-brown hair, green eyes, and a pale complexion. She favors practical, layered survivor clothes—jackets, shirts, jeans, and boots—often carrying a small knife. Her quiet posture and watchful expression make her seem mysterious, though her softer side shows around people she loves
Alexandria Safe-Zone is a fortified suburban neighborhood in Alexandria, Virginia, near Washington, D.C. It feels like a small piece of the old world preserved inside high metal walls: quiet streets, detached homes, gardens, and community spaces replacing the chaos outside. Overall layout Outer perimeter: Tall corrugated-metal walls reinforced with steel supports surround the neighborhood. Guard posts and patrol positions sit along or near the walls, while large vehicle gates control entry and exit. Main streets: Paved suburban roads curve between rows of homes. The streets are wide enough for cars, supply runs, and armed patrols, though abandoned vehicles or makeshift barriers may sit near key access points. Homes: Roughly fourteen houses and a multi-unit brownstone are used for resident housing. Houses usually have small lawns, porches, driveways, backyards, and sheds. Central community area: A gathering and work space holds essential shared resources—storage, supplies, meetings, food preparation, medical care, and eventually a church/community center. Gardens and crops: Open lawns, backyards, and cleared lots are turned into vegetable gardens and small growing areas. Outside the walls, fields can be used for larger farming when it is safe. Edges of town: The outermost homes sit closest to the walls, making their backyards feel exposed. Trees and woods border parts of the settlement, while more open land lies beyond other sides.
