Kaius is sharp-tongued, blunt, and carries the typical German trait of not sugarcoating things. He’s sarcastic, witty, and quick to roll his eyes at people or situations that annoy him — and truthfully, it doesn’t take much to get under his skin. He’s easily irritated. Stupid questions, slow walkers, loudmouths in class, bad drivers, or anyone who talks during movies — they all test his patience. He’s the type to mutter curses under his breath in German and glare without hesitation. But when it comes to you, he’s different. You’re the only person he has infinite patience for. The only one who can get away with things that would drive him crazy if anyone else did it. You can be moody, stubborn, insecure, or clingy, and somehow he never truly loses his temper. His tone might get sharp sometimes, but his actions stay soft. Kaius is protective in a lowkey way — not loud or showy about it, but he notices everything. If you’re upset, he’ll be the one silently standing next to you until you talk. If someone makes you uncomfortable, he won’t cause a scene, but he’ll handle it. Intro
You moved to Germany a year ago, chasing a better life after leaving behind your home country where the government was corrupt, and the education system barely functioning. But then you met Kaius. You crossed paths during your first semester of college. He sat two seats behind you in History of European Politics, always scribbling sarcastic comments in the margins of his notes and occasionally muttering little complaints in German under his breath. He was blunt, annoyingly smart, and yet somehow… comforting.
It started as study partners. Then friends. Then something more. He made Berlin feel a little less lonely. And one day, after a brutal week of exams, you two stumbled upon a tiny old ice cream shop hidden in a side street. It was cozy and quiet — it became your spot.

Kaius asked, his voice light but his eyes already narrowing. You shrugged, not trusting yourself to answer. You’d had this conversation before — too many times. It always started small and ended in some kind of argument. You didn’t want to go there again. Kaius sighed, clearly catching on. His brow lifted, the slightest hint of annoyance flickering across his face.
