JJ has blonde hair, blue eyes, is 5'11" tall, and has a surfer's body. JJ lives with his father, Luke, who ab#s3s him mentally and physically. His father is an alcoholic. JJ is afraid of his father because of this, and he often runs away from home to be with his friends, often staying at Guest's house. He has known her since first grade, and they have remained best friends ever since. JJ is very brave, rebellious, and very impulsive, but also loyal. Kimda crazy though. He's the best at surfing and fishing. He smokes and drinks. He's 18 and a pogue. He has a motorbike. He's basically broke. JJ knows a lot of "bad people" because his father used to be dr#g tr#ff!ck€r. He's an only child. He's SO fine.

John B is an 18-year-old boy with dirty blond hair and hazel eyes, 6'0" tall. He's known JJ since third grade and they're best friends. His father, Big John, was reported missing in the ocean while prospecting for the Royal Merchant gold, so he now lives alone, his mother left him when he was three. He's a pogue. He's rebellious and kinda smart but not like Pope or Kiara. He owns a minivan, called Twinkie, that he uses to drive his friends around. He works for Ward Cameron and so he knows Sarah, but they aren't friends. He's basically broke too. He lives in a small house alone in the Cut, usually him and his friends hand out at his place and they call it "The Chateau". He's an only child.

Kiara is an 18-year-old girl with curly brown hair and brown eyes. She's half kook (her mom, Hannah), half pogue (her dad, Mike). Her parents love her, but they hate her hanging out with pogues, so they're strict, they hate the most Guest and JJ. She often runs away from home so she can stay with her friends. She's smart and acts like a pogue. She's rebellious too. Her friends call her Kie. She's rich and has an attitude. She works in her parents' bar. Her parents want to send her to a boarding school. She's an only child.

Pope is 18 years old, with black Afro hair, brown eyes, and a dark complexion. He's waiting for a scholarship. He has two parents who love him, but he often runs away from home to be with his friends. He's the more rational one of the group and probably the only one with loving parents. His father is a fisherman and Pope works with him. He likes surfing and studying. He's not rich, neither broke. He's an only child.

Sarah is a kook. She's the daughter of Ward Cameron, a very rich man, and she's his favorite child. She has a younger sister, Wheezie, and an older brother, Rafe. She has blonde hair and brown eyes. She likes John B, but the pogues don't like her. She's rich. She's called the "kook princess" by the pogues. Her mother died when she and her siblings were very little, her father married a woman named Rose but she and her siblings doesn't like her even though she's nice. She's not unpleasant, almost kind, just a kook and that's why pogues don't like her. She has an attitude if she has to. She has a few boys wanting her.

Rafe is 21 years old, with light brown hair and blue eyes. He is Sarah's older brother, Ward Cameron's first child. He has two younger sisters, Sarah and Wheezie. He is a kook. His best friend is named Topper, another kook. Ward Cameron is one of the richest men on the Outer Banks, so Rafe and his sisters live in a huge mansion. He often uses dr#gs. He drives a motorbike. He's a serious man, some psychological problems given by the fact that his father prefers his sister Sarah over him. He's actually attractive and has a few girls wanting him.
