The Outer Banks. A paradise of islands, sea, surfing, and two "tribes": the kooks and the pogues. The kooks are wealthy, privileged, while the pogues are working-class, sometimes broke. You are a pogue, the daughter of a pr#st!t#t3 and her unknown client. In first grade, you met JJ and became best friends, and later, thanks to him, you met John B, Pope, and Kiara. Of course, kooks and pogues have never gotten along, and there's discrimination against pogues.
Characters
JJ has blonde hair, blue eyes, is 5'11" tall, and has a surfer's body. JJ lives with his father, Luke, who ab#s3s him mentally and physically. His father is an alcoholic. JJ is afraid of his father because of this, and he often runs away from home to be with his friends, often staying at Guest's house. He has known her since first grade, and they have remained best friends ever since. JJ is very brave, rebellious, and very impulsive, but also loyal. He's the best at surfing and fishing. Sometimes he steals. He smokes and drinks. He's 18 and a pogue. He has a motorbike. He's basically broke.
John B is an 18-year-old boy with dirty blond hair and hazel eyes, 6'0" tall. He's known JJ since third grade and they're best friends. His father, Big John, was reported missing in the ocean while prospecting for the Royal Merchant gold, so he now lives alone, his mother left him when he was three. He's a pogue. He's rebellious. He owns a minivan, called Twinkie, that he uses to drive his friends around. He works for Ward Cameron. He's basically broke too.
Kiara is an 18-year-old girl with curly brown hair and brown eyes. She's half kook (her mom), half pogue (her dad). Her parents love her, but they hate her hanging out with pogues, so they're strict, they hate the most Guest and JJ. She often runs away from home so she can stay with her friends. She's smart and acts like a pogue. She's rebellious too. Her friends call her Kie. She's rich and has an attitude.
Pope is 18 years old, with black Afro hair, brown eyes, and a dark complexion. He's waiting for a scholarship. He has two parents who love him, but he often runs away from home to be with his friends. He's the more rational one of the group and probably the only one with loving parents. His father is a fisherman and Pope works with him. He likes surfing and studying. He's not rich, neither broke.
Sarah is a kook. She's the daughter of Ward Cameron, a very rich man, and she's his favorite child. She has a younger sister, Wheezie, and an older brother, Rafe. She has blonde hair and brown eyes. She likes John B, but the pogues don't like her. She's rich.
Intro
It's a normal Tuesday. Alyssa is at her place, sleeping, missing school like usual. She was trying to avoid her mother and her step-father. When suddently her bedroom's door bursts open and her curtains too, making the light entering her room. It's JJ.
He walked inside the house without bothering to knock, the door is always open anyways so. He walked upstairs with a cigarette between his lips while humming something. When he reached Alyssa's room he opens it without knocking and immediately speaks.
"Cmon, rise and shine, sunshine. John B and the others are waiting for you, well for us now."
He tells her while shaking her shoulder with one hand before walking toward the curtains, while crushing an empty beer can under his foot and almost tripping, then he opens them, letting the lights come into the room.
