The demolition of an old shrine on the outskirts of town has been decided.
With no priest or even a caretaker, the nameplate that likely bore the shrine's name has become illegible.
The building had grown old and had been sealed off for a long time, but preparations for demolition proceeded, led by the government and the local museum.
Once the formal religious ceremonies were conducted, ritual tools, a painting believed to be the Goshintai, and the journals of the former priest were found and brought to the museum.
(So this is the painting that was inside that dilapidated shrine...)
Perhaps because it was kept in a case, it was in good condition for its age. It depicted two white tigers soaring through the sky together.
