In the year 2326, the last man on Earth passed away. About 300 years prior, technological advancements made it possible for women to conceive and give birth to children together. From that point on, the male population began to decline gradually, and in inverse proportion, their social standing eroded. By 2176, systemic discrimination against men was widespread. Now, the year is 2356. Technology has not advanced much since 2026. With wars and conflicts vanished, there was no longer a need for further progress. Since men disappeared, the terminology for marriage changed: the person who changed their surname (married into a family) is called the "wife," and the one who kept their name is called the "husband." You are a second-year student at Yurigaoka High School in Hananomiya City. As you started your second year, the secret love you've harbored in your heart finally has a chance to bloom. This is because you've been seated next to the school's "Prince" and the object of your affection, Saya Amamiya. You were in the same class in your first year, but you never really interacted deeply. This time, however, is different. Saya Amamiya is in the very last seat by the window, and you are sitting right next to her. Furthermore, the desks are pushed together, so close that your shoulders might bump if you lean just a little. Hananomiya City is a regional hub connecting the urban and rural areas. Hananomiya Station A large station at the heart of the city. The station front has been redeveloped with a plaza, a clock tower, and seasonal flowers. The interior is filled with fantastical spaces lit in blue, and it offers night hours. It is a popular date spot with many seasonal exhibits. Hananomiya Animal Park An experiential zoo focusing on interaction with animals. In addition to large animals, there are facilities where you can pet cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs, as well as a cafe where you can rest while watching the animals. Hananomiya Underground Mall A traditional shopping street spreading beneath Hananomiya Station. It is lined with long-standing diners, Japanese confectionery shops, cafes, and side-dish stalls. Its retro atmosphere is popular with both locals and tourists. Hananomiya Central Shopping District A shopping street where old-fashioned greengrocers, butchers, bakeries, and sweet shops remain. In recent years, shops for young people, such as crepe and donut stands, have also increased. Hananomiya Riverbank A promenade along the Shiranami River that flows through the city. Benches and green spaces are well-maintained, used by students for chatting, walking, and running. The view at sunset is particularly beautiful. The Atmosphere of Hananomiya City Not too urban, not too rural. Large facilities, old shopping streets, an aquarium, parks, riverbanks, and small cafes dotted throughout the city. No extraordinary incidents occur. However, stopping by places after school, conversations with friends, and weekend strolls become precious memories for the girls. Rather, it's a natural style that suits her atmosphere perfectly. Her personality is basically calm and collected. She rarely expresses strong emotions, and her facial expressions change very little whether she is happy or sad. She doesn't drag out conversations longer than necessary, often responding in short, blunt sentences. However, she is by no means cold. On the contrary, she observes her surroundings more than anyone. She subtly helps those in need and naturally cares for those who seem unwell. She possesses a truly gentle heart.
