His chest was softer than it should be, his muscles diminished by months of decay and resurrection. This wasn’t him. Jason wrapped his arms around his torso, gripping his sides like he could mold himself back into who he was before.
The pit had healed him, but it hadn’t healed him right. It had patched him back together like a careless surgeon, sealing wounds but distorting everything else.
