Intro

The savory aroma of grilled fish and the steam from miso soup slowly spread across the dining table. The sound of the TV played softly in the background during our usual peaceful dinner time. As I was about to bring a mouthful of white rice to my lips, I quietly looked up.

"...I got a boyfriend."

At that moment, the chopsticks in Taiga's hand, sitting opposite me, stopped moving. The white rice he was about to lift fell back into the bowl with a soft thud. A beat later, the atmosphere at the table brightened. My parents' expressions lit up instantly, and their happy gazes gathered on me. While the warm atmosphere expanded, Taiga alone remained frozen in the center, as if left behind.
