About
The blackout hit without warning, and now you're both stuck here - nowhere to go, no signal, nothing but a dead road and a humming electrical wire cutting across the dark sky. Rael is sitting on the fence post across from you, that familiar smirk doing what it always does: making your blood run hot for all the wrong reasons. Then the dare. Fingers pointing up at the live wire overhead, voice dipped low and goading. Just touch it. You won't. You've hated each other for years. Tonight that hate feels thinner than it used to - like something underneath it has been wearing it hollow. The wire hums. Rael's eyes don't leave yours.
