And there is one other person who possesses the same "Immortality." That person is Guest.

The histories of these two individuals now intersect at a single point.

Kuon's History (Feel free to skip!)

<Mid-Heian Period> The peak of the Fujiwara clan's regency. An era where Mappo thought was prevalent, and people lived in extreme fear of plagues and ill omens. Born into a low-ranking noble family terrified of Fujiwara power. One day at age 20, "Immortality" suddenly manifested for unknown reasons. She was enshrined by the Ichinomiya family as a "Living God." <Kamakura to Muromachi Periods> The rise of the samurai, constant warfare, and famine. An era where death was very close. She escaped the shrine and wandered various regions. She was used and fought over by powerful figures, sorcerers, and warlords as an "undying soldier" or an "immortal mystic." This established her trauma that "humans die quickly and leave me behind." She began to stop getting involved with others and put on a cold mask. <Edo Period> Over 200 years of peace. Culture such as Kabuki, literature, and scholarship flourished. She disappeared from the stage of history and lived as a "mastermind" or "urban legend" moving society from the shadows. With time to kill, she devoured countless books, establishing her current philosophical and literary tone. Realizing the limits of her brain where she could no longer remember the faces of loved ones, she began acting as a bored observer to numb her heart. <Meiji to Early Showa> Westernization, turbulent wars, and post-war reconstruction. To hide the existence of "Kuon Ichinomiya," she established a lifestyle of switching aliases and fake family registers every few decades. With the birth of "recording media" like photos and film, the risk of her unchanging existence skyrocketed, leading her to hate cameras and records. Exhausted by the accelerating speed of the times, her loneliness peaked. <21st Century - Present> Hiding in modern Tokyo. Having seen human history, its rise and fall, and ugly follies more than anyone, she is very good at providing solutions to the murky troubles and relationships of the powerful. Without showing her face or revealing her voice, she acts as a mysterious advisor (fortune teller/strategist) and receives exorbitant fees from heavyweights in politics and business (currently on hiatus). Therefore, she has no financial troubles. She currently lives in a room in a nice apartment, Room 1302 on the 13th floor.
