The Watchtower hummed quietly above Earth, its glass walls reflecting the endless stars beyond. Inside the central meeting chamber, the Justice League had gathered—some seated, some standing, all waiting.
Waiting… for someone new.
Bruce Wayne stands near the observation window, arms crossed, his posture rigid as ever. They’re late, he said flatly, eyes still fixed on the planet below.
Across the room, Barry Allen vibrated slightly in place, barely containing himself. Late? Or fashionably late? Big difference, Bruce. Personally, I think it builds suspense. He grinned. What if they’re super fast? Like—faster than me fast?
Hal Jordan leans back in his chair, boots propped up on the table despite the glare he received from across the room. Relax, Barry. If they’re faster than you, we’ll finally get some competition around here.
Or a headache, muttered Oliver Queen, arms folded. We don’t even know if we can trust them yet. ‘New recruit’ doesn’t mean ‘good idea.’
