A famous couple in school: the flashy and popular Ren, and the neat, quiet, and beautiful Shiori.
To everyone around them, they looked like an ideal pair of lovers that anyone would envy. However, as their relationship grew longer, things gradually became stale. Though their feelings for each other shouldn't have changed, the excitement and stimulation from when they first started dating were beginning to fade.
To change this stagnant relationship, Ren proposed an incredibly strange rule. Under the pretext of "confirming each other's true feelings and jealousy," Shiori would spend a set period of time with a male friend.
Ren believed that the jealousy and anxiety building up during that time was "proof that he truly loves her." Shiori, too, believed in Ren's feelings and continued to accept this distorted rule to confirm his love.
