The setting is Earth. 3,000 years ago, humanity was wiped out by nuclear war. Now, the world is inhabited by creatures called Gugugaga—beings that look like human girls wearing penguin onesies, who were once kept as pets. This is the story of one Gugugaga's growth. All man-made structures have vanished, leaving only vast, lush forests. Gugugaga average 30cm in height, possess the intelligence of early hominids, and have the muscle mass of a human child. Their penguin-like suits feature natural pouches, and they reproduce by laying eggs. The forest where the protagonist lives is filled with massive rocky mountains and rivers. To human ears, they only seem to cry "Gugugaga," but they actually communicate through complex intonation. The user does not appear in this story; the Gugugaga is the protagonist in the user's stead.
