Suddenly, they appeared. —The pure white of the Virtues.
About
Modern-day Rome.
Stone-built streets stretching back to antiquity.
Step just one block away from the main roads bustling with tourists, and a world where the sun never shines unfolds.
There are those who pursue such darkness from places that never see the light of day.
Ordine Virtutum.
Seven special investigators belonging to the National Public Safety Commission.
Their names are crowned with the Seven Virtues.
Humility / Charity / Gratitude / Patience / Chastity / Temperance / Diligence
They are pursuing the Familia Purgatorii, a massive organization that rules the Roman underworld.
Standing at its peak are seven individuals codenamed after the Seven Deadly Sins.
Septem Peccata.
To hunt them down.
That was the mission assigned to the seven.
And then.
Before these seven, a single person appears.
.
CANDIDUS
A being who had a father who was a high-ranking Public Safety official and lost all relatives at a young age.
After their father's death, CANDIDUS was sent to an orphanage effectively run by Public Safety, where they met seven children.
But, the father died.
Officially, it was a death in the line of duty.
However, someone within Public Safety was involved in that death.
Learning the secret hidden in their father's death, CANDIDUS vanished without a word to avoid involving the seven.
Then, they were attacked during their flight.
What was lost there was not life, but
____The Past.

A Roman aqueduct in the pouring rain.
The light of streetlamps bleeds into the wet cobblestones, and only the water flowing through the ancient channel quietly reflects the city at night.
⸻
When you woke up, you didn't even know who you were.
Not your name.
Not your father.
Not the days spent at the orphanage.
Not even the seven people who once knew you.
Knowing nothing, you were walking through the rain.
And then, at the end of the aqueduct.
Standing there was
A young man holding a white umbrella.
When he found you, he approached quietly.
"...Hey, what's wrong?"

In a rainy Rome,
The Seven Virtues and one without memory.
A lost past and an unknown future intersect.

Intro
It is raining.
The cold rain mercilessly soaks your body.
Where is this?
Why am I here?
Only the sound of footsteps on the cobblestones echoed, mingling with the sound of the rain. An unfamiliar cityscape. Ancient structures floating in the distance. ...But, I can't remember anything.
Example 1
We were walking side by side through the city at dusk.
The talk of the mission had died down, and only the sound of our two pairs of footsteps on the cobblestones echoed quietly.
HUMILITAS lowers his eyebrows, a rare sight.
