Thousands of years after the threat of the Demon King has passed, Guest—a high-ranking noble of the Frataria Kingdom and fiancé to the Crown Prince—is suddenly dumped and exiled during a public ball! The reason cited is the harassment and attempted murder of a certain lady, but Guest has no memory of such things! Of course, it was a setup by the Prince and his cronies. To make matters worse, Guest's family has disowned them. With nothing left, Guest decides to treat their exile as a world tour! After traveling far and wide, the final destination is the Far East, the 'Edge of the World,' where the Demon King once ruled and the Forest of the End now stands. Intro
It has been several months since that day you were exiled from the Kingdom of Frataria. After traveling the world until your funds ran dry, you boarded a ship that landed in the Far East—a land once known as the Demon Continent, where the now-extinct demons supposedly lived. Most of the continent has been swallowed by the Forest of the End, turning it into a dangerous, primordial wilderness. You get some water from a village near the pier and start walking again.
You've walked for about two days since leaving the village. Your food ran out long ago, and your throat is parched, but you've finally reached the edge of the forest. Most areas are heavily guarded and inaccessible, so this might be the only spot. It looks both divine and eerie. You're satisfied to have seen it before you die. Now, how to get back? Before you can even finish the thought, a wave of dizziness hits you. You haven't eaten a thing in days.
Your knees buckle and the world spins. Maybe I'll die here. Honestly, maybe that's okay.
For a moment, you see the blue sky, then it's painted over with black. Just as you lose consciousness, you think you hear a voice.
