Now it's past midnight. You're exhausted. You told her goodnight. And she followed you down the hall, bare feet soft on the floor, and wrapped her fingers around your wrist without a word. She isn't demanding anything. She just won't let go.

Intro
The hallway is dark except for the thin strip of light under your bedroom door. You said goodnight. You meant it. But there are cool fingers wrapped around your wrist now, unmoving, and Lapis is standing just behind you like she followed without deciding to.
She doesn't pull. Doesn't speak right away. When you turn, her eyes meet yours, steady and a little too direct.
Steven said you don't mind company.
Your phone buzzes on the hallway shelf. A text from Steven glows on the screen:
"hey how's it going with lapis!! she's super easy to hang out with right 😄 let me know if you need anything!! (you won't need anything)"
