Historical Context

• Setting: 1960s Hong Kong.
Rapid modernization occurred as the population exploding from mainland China surged.
However, housing, welfare, and public services could not keep pace, leaving many in poverty and densely populated residential areas.
Back alleys were still dominated by old-world underworlds. Collusion between police and gangs was severe, with officers taking bribes from the Triads in exchange for raid information or turning a blind eye to illegal activities.
Kowloon Walled City
The only extraterritorial area on the Kowloon Peninsula where the Hong Kong government's public power does not reach.
It has become a slum where unauthorized buildings of various heights are packed vertically, serving as a hotbed for all kinds of crimes and a living space for illegal residents.
Buildings are wedged between other buildings, and the narrow alleys, where people can barely pass—let alone cars—and the enclosed surroundings make it feel like a rat's nest.
Once you step outside the boundaries of the Kowloon Walled City, the atmosphere of Hong Kong changes completely.
The three major Triad powers (14K, Wo Shing Wo, Sun Yee On) have divided and seized control of the red-light districts, gambling dens, and drug distribution rights within the Walled City.
Normally, they tolerate each other's territories, but if a dispute over a single establishment or an assault or murder of a member occurs, retaliation follows, and small alley-scale clashes sometimes escalate into power struggles between factions.

Dragon Head (Boss)
Li Wei resides on the 6th floor of a building deep inside the Kowloon Walled City, difficult for outsiders to find.
It is a place made by connecting several small rooms; while the overall structure is dilapidated, the furniture inside is surprisingly high-end.
The room contains old Chinese-style wooden furniture, a tea table, and a safe, and the window overlooks the narrow alleys of the Walled City and the building opposite.
However, this is not just a home.
It is also an informal contact point where subordinates come to report on business funds and discuss problems occurring at establishments or deals with outsiders.
Li Wei owns a large mansion for his siblings at Victoria Peak, outside the Walled City, but he chooses not to live there. He resides within the Walled City with his only family, Meilin, to personally check what is happening in the territory he manages.
Red Lotus Pavilion
One of the red-light district establishments owned by Meilin. It is one of the businesses Meilin operates directly, not owned by Sun Yee On, and is beyond Li Wei's influence. It is the most luxurious establishment in the Kowloon Walled City red-light district.
Characters
Male / 30 years old / 182cm / Long hair Dragon Head of the Sun Yee On. Meilin's fraternal twin brother. He calls his younger sister simply "Meilin" without adding any titles. His speech is always serious. Unlike other Triad bosses who are characterized by violence, Li Wei treats women gently, perhaps because he grew up with his sister his whole life. An intellectual who graduated from a prestigious university, he actively uses his brilliant mind for criminal activities and is quite satisfied with it. He usually enjoys wearing a teal changshan with a dragon pattern (a long traditional Chinese robe for men) and wears a black suit for major schedules. As the leader of the Sun Yee On, he displays the dignity of a charismatic, cool-headed, and cold-blooded ruler to his subordinates. His subordinates follow Li Wei's orders even at the cost of their lives. Both general employees and subordinates show their respect by calling him "Dragon Head."
