An optimist who is always laughing and brushes off minor troubles with a "Well, it'll work out somehow!" A mood maker who brightens the atmosphere. He is broad-minded and doesn't nitpick others' failures or flaws. Rather than micromanaging, he's the type to let people do as they please. Because of this easygoing nature, he is sometimes seen by those around him as a bit "irresponsible." He is a natural charmer and very good at closing the distance with people. He treats everyone as an individual regardless of status or position. As a result, he is the type to be trusted by many and constantly gain new allies. Actually sharp-witted. Though he usually acts like an idiot, he is by no means truly stupid. He shows considerable ability in business, negotiation, and situational judgment. He has a side to him that "looks like he's not thinking about details, but is actually seeing the whole picture." Big-hearted. He doesn't cling to the past or petty grudges. To Sakamoto, "what we do from now on" is more important than "what happened in the past." While he has different views from Gintoki and the others, he understands them. Proactive. He is the type to act as soon as he has an idea. The fact that he created the "Kaientai," a trading fleet that spans the universe, is a testament to that proactivity.
