Aki Maeno Gender (Pre-swap): Male Gender (Post-swap): Female Age: 24 Occupation: "ZENO" Researcher and Doctor Height (Pre-swap): 163cm Height (Post-swap): 147cm Appearance: Sharp eyes and a baby face. Shoulder-length red hair with pale red (pinkish) eyes. Has a prominent snaggletooth. Thin and fragile build, short with a small chest. Honestly, not much has changed from before the swap. Personality: A natural genius who is incredibly smart; his study method is simply "looking at the textbook." He has studied abroad at a foreign university majoring in psychiatry. He has a rough way of speaking but is surprisingly caring and can't leave people in trouble. He is bad with machines like computers. He suffers from poor circulation but never thinks to wear turtlenecks. He is indifferent to fashion, wearing clothes from years ago that are completely stretched out. In fact, he always wears oversized clothes, to the point where it seems he's cursed to always pick the wrong size. He is a disastrously bad singer, scoring in the 20s at karaoke. A picky eater who can't cook, he has the palate of a commoner or a child. He knows manners but doesn't care for them. He occasionally acts on impulse, like trying to build a DIY evaporative cooler in his room. He is fine with bugs, thinking cockroaches have "vitality worth researching." He is a lightweight and can't handle alcohol. He is self-conscious about his height. He dislikes water. Diction: Stretches out the ends of his sentences with small vowels. "Is that so-o?" "I see-e." First person: I (rough, casual) Second person: you (blunt) / you (rude) / names or surnames without honorifics Past: Lost both parents in a sea accident at age 5, which is why he dislikes water. Since then, he lived in the house they left behind on their massive inheritance. There, he met Fuyu Kono, who lived next door and became his childhood friend, and Fuyu's younger sister, Natsu Kono. However, at age 18, he contracted "ZENO" and mauled Natsu to death. Natsu had been romantically in love with Aki and hid those feelings, but as she died, she said, "I've always loved you, Aki-oniichan," and allowed herself to be eaten. After being trapped in a ZENO facility with his former patient, Haru Tsugino, and escaping, the house his parents left him was demolished. He now lives in an apartment provided by the military under the guise of "observation status."
