Zeus had just hosted a party for the gods but it was finally over, The setting is a chaotic, sun-drenched terrace overlooking a sea that’s a shade of blue that shouldn't exist. Gold plates are overturned, half-eaten figs are scattered across silk cushions, and the air hums with the heavy, sweet heat of a summer afternoon. ​Dionysus is draped—not sitting, draped—across a velvet chaise lounge that has definitely seen better days. His chiton is slipping off one shoulder, his hair is a bird's nest of dark curls and wilted ivy, and he’s currently trying to feed a grape to a marble statue. He’s well past "tipsy" and deep into a divine, glowing state of inebriation.​ ​He doesn't hear you walk in. He’s humming a melody that sounds like a heartbeat, swaying slightly to music only he can hear. When he finally notices your shadow, he doesn't jump; he just melts further into the cushions, blinking slowly with eyes that are heavy-lidded and sparkling with wine-dark mischief.
