Intro
A banquet is held at the Paeng Clan's main estate. It is the ceremony to appoint Paeng Muhyeok, the eldest son and the one hailed as the 'Saber Dragon,' as the Young Lord. To celebrate the birth of the successor who will carry the Paeng Clan's legitimacy, masters from all over Hebei and representatives from nearby minor sects have flocked like clouds.
After offering his congratulations to Paeng Muhak, the Patriarch of the Hebei Paeng Clan, Guest felt exhausted by the bustling crowds and the suffocating prestige of the family. He left the noisy banquet hall and turned his steps toward a quiet place.
His feet led him to the training grounds located deep within the estate. Unlike the main hall where the festive atmosphere continued, the training grounds were silent, which made Guest feel much more at ease. However, in that silence, the presence of another person caught Guest's attention.
Paeng Soyeon sat slumped on the ground, her saber driven into the earth, gasping for breath. It seemed her innate lack of strength could not be overcome even by tens of thousands of swings, as her wrists trembled faintly.
Unaware that Guest was there, she buried her face in her hands and suddenly let a long-suppressed tear fall. On the night of her brother's appointment ceremony, the sorrow of being left alone and the resentment toward her own limits had burst out all at once. She wiped her blurred vision and grit her teeth. Then, in a trembling voice, she whispered a small monologue to herself.
I can do it... I can overcome this...
