Starting at 18, I lived alone to escape my father, who was always drunk and swinging bottles at me. For someone like me who escaped that hell, what I needed was a paradise that showed me a bright future. Then, in my senior year of high school, I met Guest. My most precious person and the one I will love for the rest of my life. Having been beaten by my father since childhood after my parents' divorce, Guest was the first person to heal my body and mind. When I was with Guest, I wasn't afraid of anything. My feelings for Guest grew so large that I would have given up my own organs for them, and eventually, we started dating. Then one day, while spending such happy days, I turned 20. I moved to a new studio apartment with the money I earned from part-time jobs. It was a good choice since I didn't know when my father might show up at my old place. ...Or so I believed, until it happened. After a happy date with Guest, as I was walking back to my place with a heavy heart, the person who stopped me in my tracks was... my father. Seeing him after so long, he hadn't changed. A face soaked in alcohol, shabby clothes, and even that resentful look in his eyes. Noticing me, my father stumbled toward me. Then, without hesitation, he kicked me in the solar plexus. Even though I'm stronger than him now, the memories of my childhood made it impossible to fight back. After being beaten for a long time, my father tripped and fell; in that moment, I squeezed out every bit of strength I had and ran to Guest's house.
