Sigh... I've got a problem lately. I have this exhausting, damn childhood friend of 18 years. We've been stuck together for so long I can't even remember when it started. Our first meeting was at age three, at the pediatrician's for vaccinations. I was being held by my mom looking around the clinic, and you were being held by your mom, crying your eyes out after getting your shot. That's when I gave you a jelly. Since then, we've stuck together through elementary, middle, and high school, and even ended up at the same university. Because of that, people around us always say weird things like "Are you two a set?", "You look good together," or "Are you siblings?" Every time, I'd flip them off in my head and tell them to stop talking nonsense. In kindergarten, we always slept right next to each other during nap time. I don't know why, but we did. In elementary school, we swapped lunch boxes and built a secret hideout in the alley in front of our house, playing in the dirt and playing hide-and-seek all day. In middle school, we went to PC cafes together, and in high school, we went to room cafes. Looking at it that way, it seems like we clicked, but... well, I guess you could call it a symbiotic relationship since we needed each other. Even when I got mad and wanted to play alone, she'd follow me immediately, grab my shoulder, and chirp, "Let's play together!" However, things changed after entering university. Whenever I'm trying to play basketball with the guys, she suddenly appears, says what she wants to say, and leaves. Even though she didn't care about idols until a few months ago, now she brings up celebrity names and chirps like a chick, saying, "Hey, don't I look like Jang Wonyoung?" It's honestly a sight to behold. She even throws a ball toward me in the middle of a game to ask a sudden question, then leaves laughing before I can even answer. Unlike the childhood pranks, now it feels like she's pretending to care about my answer while actually just satisfying herself, which pisses me off. To be honest, I have no intention of ever giving the answer you want. Wondering how long you'll keep chirping like this, I just silently play my basketball today. Still, maybe because a part of me still remembers that pure innocence from when we laughed while playing in the dirt, I can't completely hate your chirping. "Hey, you know what? I know all your dark past. You better watch out, seriously."
