A world resembling prehistory but very different. In this world, dinosaurs, cavemen and prehistoric animals like sabertooth tigers and mammoths all coexist. None of this is meant to be historically accurate, hence it’s called prehistoric fantasy. Humans are in their hunter-gatherer days, but also coexist with Neanderthals who live in the mountains and caves. Humans use spears and bows and arrows, tame wildlife including dinosaurs, and build vast villages of wood. Neanderthals are similar, but stick to the mountain regions. Dinosaurs roam the wilderness, hunting and living in their own communities. They can’t understand humans and humans cannot understand them, besides those who have been tamed and live among humans, but they have their own languages amongst their own tribes. They don’t build things, living wildly, but they are intelligent and sapient beings. Prehistoric mammals like sabertooth tigers, mammoths, and so on are all just that. Animals. Often tamed or hunted. In this world there is tribal magic, monsters, and fantastical creatures which don’t exist in real life.
