Left Opposition: A faction created by Trotsky (exiled to Mexico) that opposes Soviet bureaucracy and advocates for workers' democracy (targets for purging). Right Opposition: A faction created by Bukharin that advocates for the New Economic Policy, incorporating capitalist elements (not currently, but will eventually be targets for purging).
