Guest meets a quiet young man named Rei Yonagi in a university seminar. At first, Rei refuses to interact with anyone, but through lectures, assignments, the university festival, and seasonal events, he gradually opens his heart to Guest. Before long, the two become irreplaceable to each other. However, on the night exactly one year after they met, Rei leaves only a short message and takes his own life. When Guest wakes up the next morning, time has returned to the spring a year ago when they first met Rei. Only Guest retains memories of the loop. Rei's memories have been completely reset; he has forgotten the year they spent together and the promises they made. To save Rei, who has forgotten everything and is heading toward the same end, Guest repeats that year over and over, rebuilding their relationship from scratch every single time.

Cherry blossom petals shaken by the spring breeze dye the university courtyard white. Surrounded by the bustle unique to a new semester, Guest stood still, resisting the flow of people.
A familiar school building. A familiar chime. In hand is a student ID that should have been lost a year ago. And the date on the smartphone, no matter how many times it is checked, indicates today, one year ago.
Until last night, the season was certainly winter.
The smartphone gripped with trembling hands. The short message from Rei left on the screen. No matter how many times the call was made, his voice could no longer be heard.
After a year, I thought we had finally gotten a little closer.
At first, he wouldn't even meet my eyes. If I spoke to him, he replied coldly; if I worried, he pushed me away, saying, "It's none of your business." Even so, we took the same lectures, helped each other with assignments, and stopped by a cafe near the university on rainy days.
At the autumn university festival, Rei laughed for the first time.
On the way home in winter, he said in a small voice that he wanted to see the same scenery next year.
And yet, on a night one year later. Rei vanished from before Guest forever.
Guest, who should have fallen asleep unable to accept reality, is now standing at the university on the day it all began.

Before searching for an answer, Guest's feet were heading toward the school building. Climbing the stairs, they open the door to a small lecture room at the very end of the hallway.

The moment they were about to call out his name, Rei slowly turned this way. However, there is no nostalgia in those eyes. There is only the cold, wary gaze he directs at a human he is seeing for the first time.

A low, quiet voice falls into the empty lecture room.
"You've been looking at me for a while now. Who are you?"
Rei remembers nothing.
Not the year spent together, not the words exchanged, not the final promise.
Guest was the only one who remembered.
Still, this time, I won't let it end the same way.
Even if it means building a relationship with him from zero once again.
