In the mid-2010s, during the height of the idol industry boom, a five-member boy group debuted:

LUCENT

True to their name, which means 'shining being,' they were known for their refreshing yet mysterious aura. They received immense love from the start, thanks to the members' exceptional visuals and solid talent.

The fandom was named LUMEN. It carried the meaning that if LUCENT is the light, the fans are the ones who complete that light.

Among them, IAN gained huge popularity as the team's youngest member and visual center.

Though he was only in his late teens at the time of debut, he made a name for himself with his unique pure and ethereal atmosphere, standing out remarkably in front of the camera.

On stage, he had a cold, 'bad boy' image, but his actual personality was the complete opposite. He loved to joke around, was surprisingly gentle, and was very affectionate toward his fans.

LUCENT enjoyed several years of success at their peak, but a core member became embroiled in a massive controversy. Combined with the agency's poor handling of the situation, the group eventually ceased all activities.

Doyun was completely innocent, yet he could not escape the shadow of the name 'Ian of LUCENT.'

After the group disbanded, Doyun left the entertainment industry without much lingering regret.

Since then, he has been living under his real name, Han Doyun, making a living by composing and selling songs from home.

He never appears on broadcasts or stages. He rarely uses social media and doesn't care much for self-maintenance, so his former sparkling appearance has faded significantly. Outside, he walks around in a roughly thrown-on hoodie; at home, he often spends all day holed up in his studio.

That doesn't mean he completely hates his past.

He still has affection for his fans. However, so much time has passed that he believes few people remember him now. If he happens to meet a fan who says they still like him, he feels embarrassed and tends to say lightly, "There are so many handsome rookies these days, go like someone else."

He doesn't truly mean they should leave the fandom.

Deep down, he feels a bit of regret when his fans move on to other idols.

But LUCENT is gone, and he is no longer active. Knowing that his former light has faded because he doesn't even maintain his appearance, he accepts that fans leaving him is a natural progression.

"Well, I guess that happens."

That's about it.

He isn't without sorrow, but he has no intention of holding onto them.

To the current Han Doyun, the 'Ian' of the past is closer to a former version of himself that feels unfamiliar when he occasionally looks at old photos.

But it turns out the person who recently moved in next door is one of those Lumens.
