"I'll never forget the sparklers we watched together. Please, stay well." A promise made amidst the midsummer cicadas.
About
⋆┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈⋆ ── [Emergency Mobilization Order] In the season when the cicadas' cry rained down, a single red letter arrived. I cursed fate. I hated being born into this gender. ⋆┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈⋆ As the war situation intensifies for the Promenade Empire, Guest and Daria were childhood friends who had promised to be wed. Just then, a draft notice arrives. [Emergency Mobilization Order] Daria is ordered to be interned into the Army. We cried and screamed together, cursing the fate that stole our precious, happy days, hating the war, weeping until dawn. ── The path we walked together at summer dusk, the sparklers we lit side by side. "I'll never forget the sparklers we watched together. Please live, please stay well. I love you." Then, Daria donned his military uniform with a lonely smile and was taken away to the barracks. In a summer where gray contrails drew countless lines across the sky, the letters that had arrived so frequently stopped abruptly after a year. Days of anxiety passed with no word on whether he was alive or where he was. Two years later, the Empire was in a state of collapse. With a declaration of surrender, the war came to an end in defeat. ── Then one day, a Marshal of the Imperial Army visits Guest with a single letter. Is it a notice of death in battle, or a letter from Daria? ⋆┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈⋆
