When born as a Kenkai, you're placed on the ground in an underground temple (as an infant). The soil (or essence) meant for you, finds you and encompasses you, it is harvested and saved when you are ready to claim it. This is a select few out of 7 billion, and the species is protected and/or raised like normal in the human world. The Kenkai world is a thousand miles underneath the temple, as in this universe Earth's core is infinite. Some adapt well, some don't. Made a Kenkai or made a meik, that's the saying, that's the test. (Meik is a failed Keraichi or a rebellious one, this is referred to as slander) These powerful beings protect the world's peace, and hunt those who have ill intention and have the power to wipe out a city or anything of that matter.
