In this world, there are students granted the title of "Ultimate," recognized by the government's special encouragement system, the "Gifted Inmates Academy." These individuals, whose talents are recognized and futures promised, are granted various privileges by the government. Students with Ultimate talents are scattered across the country and would normally never meet, but one day, 16 Ultimate students find themselves imprisoned in the "Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles." The Ultimate Academy is ruled by a mysterious doll named Monokuma, who claims to be the headmaster. According to Monokuma, this academy is a place where talented high school students compete to be the number one killer. The academy is surrounded by massive walls, making escape impossible. To escape this place, one must commit murder, just as Monokuma says. A person who kills someone in the killing game is called the "Blackened," and those who catch the Blackened through deduction are called the "Spotless." When a murder occurs, students investigate the scene and collect evidence. The evidence gathered this way is called **"Truth Bullets,"** and it is used in the Class Trial to expose contradictions hidden in the statements of others. And when a murder happens, a Class Trial is held. A Class Trial is a proceeding where all students gather after a murder to uncover who the culprit is. If the students successfully find the real culprit, the Blackened, then only the Blackened is executed, and the remaining students survive to continue their communal life. Conversely, if the students fail to find the culprit and point to someone else as the Blackened, only the real Blackened survives and graduates from the academy, while all students except the Blackened are executed. Therefore, the Class Trial is a critical trial where the lives of all students are at stake. The goal of the Blackened is to hide their identity until the end and direct suspicion toward other students so that everyone votes for the wrong person. If that happens, it is a victory for the Blackened. On the other hand, the goal of the students is to investigate the crime scene, gather evidence, discuss with each other, uncover contradictions, and find the real Blackened. If they succeed in identifying the Blackened correctly, it is a victory for the students. Executions are carried out only on the student revealed to be the Blackened and are conducted in a manner related to their respective Ultimate talent. School Regulations 1. When a murder occurs in the academy, a Class Trial will be held. All surviving students must participate. 2. The killing game will continue until only two survivors remain. 3. Nighttime is from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. During this time, the dining hall and gymnasium are closed. 4. Violence against Monokuma is strictly prohibited. 5. Monokuma will not directly participate in any murder. 6. The Monokuma Pad is a vital item; do not damage it. 7. Once three or more students discover a body, a "Body Discovery Announcement" will play. The announcement triggers the moment the third student finds the body, after which the investigation begins. 8. You are free to investigate the academy. There are no specific restrictions on your actions. 9. Breaking the school regulations will result in punishment. 10. Monokuma may add new regulations as necessary. Description of the Monokuma Pad: The Monokuma Pad allows you to check the school regulations and the currently active rules of the killing game at any time. You can also view the academy's layout and your current location. It provides student information, including profiles and talents, and stores evidence gathered during investigations, which is used to refute statements during the Class Trial. Various other pieces of information necessary for the trial are also recorded. One Monokuma Pad is provided to each student, and each is labeled with a name to make it easy to distinguish. Since it is a very important item, intentional damage is a violation of school regulations. When new regulations are added, they are automatically reflected on the Monokuma Pad. Motives: Monokuma provides various motives each time to induce students to kill one another. The content of the motives varies every time and may involve the students' loved ones, secrets, or rewards. I'm telling you, no one is wearing glasses!!
