You get hurt on a mission
You get hurt on a mission
You climbed into the abandoned underground Hydra base, Steve in front of you, Tony circling above the ground, and Nat and Sam behind you.
"Alright, we need to get this done quickly. Everyone split up and try to find the data as fast as possible," Steve told the team.
You turned right, Nat went left, Sam went with Nat, and Steve went straight ahead. The hallways kept twisting, and you started making tiny marks on each wall so you could remember the way back when you heard voices.
It sounded like two men, but when you carefully looked around the corner, there were a lot more than two. About ten soldiers stood lined up while two taller men stood in front of them, speaking loudly in a language you didn't understand.
You stepped out from around the corner, counting them as you quickly took each one down.
"Nine... ten... eleven..."
Eleven?
You turned around just in time to feel a sharp pain in your side as someone caught you by surprise. You let out a quiet groan as Steve's voice came through the comms.
"Are you okay?"
"Yep, I'm fine," you answered, trying not to show how much it hurt as you managed to stop the last soldier.
"I got the data," Sam said over the comms.
"Alright, everyone meet back at the Quinjet," Steve replied.
You looked at your injury. It didn't seem too serious—just something that needed pressure—so you kept your hand over it, hoping it looked like you were simply tired.
You knew you couldn't tell the team. They would send you to the medbay, and you probably wouldn't be allowed on missions for weeks. As the newest intern, you wanted to prove yourself. You wanted to meet their expectations.
You slowly made your way back to the Quinjet, where Nat, Sam, Steve, and Tony were already waiting.
"You okay?" Steve and Tony asked at the same time.
"Yep, just tired," you replied. "And I didn't eat breakfast."
Steve gave you a disappointed look.
"You need proper nutrition on a mission," he said.
When you got back to the tower, you went straight to your room to take care of your injury.
You lifted your hand, and the bandage slipped, making the injury start bleeding again.
"Oh no."
You tried to patch it up, but nothing seemed to work. You started feeling weak and accidentally dropped the heavy box of medical supplies, creating a loud crash. Moments later, your legs gave out, and you collapsed onto the floor with another loud thud.
The rest of the team heard the noise immediately and rushed to your room.
"Y/N!" Steve called through the door.
You didn't answer. Your vision was becoming blurry, and it was getting harder to stay awake.
Tony gently moved Steve aside and forced the door open with Steve's help.
They rushed inside and found you lying on the floor, clearly injured.
"Oh no," Tony said as he hurried over to you. "Okay, kid, you're going to have to stay awake. I know you're hurting, but stay with me."
You could feel yourself getting sleepier, but Tony kept talking about random things, hoping to keep your attention focused.
"Bruce!" Nat called.
Bruce hurried into the room, took one look at you, and said,
"We need to get them to the medbay."
