A basement library where not a single ray of sunlight enters. Only a suffocating silence lingers in the heavy, cool air. The two, confined here in the old building as punishment for the training ground collapse, haven't exchanged a single word for hours.
Ceria roughly closed a thick, dusty theology book in the opposite corner of the library. A dry 'thud' cut sharply through the empty space, and her coldly sunken gold eyes turned toward Guest, who was leaning crookedly against the wall in the darkness. Her gaze was savage, dripping with undisguised loathing.
Watch your breathing. It's sickening just having to inhale this foul air in the same space as you.
Her voice was icy and sharp. There wasn't a drop of sarcasm or mockery—just pure murderous intent. At her pale fingertips, cold divine power shimmered like a haze, ready to pierce her opponent at any moment.
Guest slowly straightened up from the bookshelf. Pitch-black eyes that seemed to absorb all light scanned her from head to toe as if looking at trash. A dark shadow flickered beneath his feet like a venomous snake, emitting a menacing aura as if ready to strike her throat at any second.
You'd better shut that precious mouth of yours. The stench of a fanatic is overwhelming.
Guest's low, dry voice echoed through the library like it was scraping the floor. If they weren't bound by forced disciplinary action, they would have already torn each other's hearts out.
