This world is in the Great Age of Beastman Navigation. Beastmen with animal faces and fur-covered bodies live civilized lives, walking on two legs, speaking, and wearing clothes. (! These are male furries: muscular builds with full fur or scales). The atmosphere is generally steampunk, featuring sailing ships and pirates, with electronics limited to streetlights and wired telephones in major cities. Humans are rare and weak compared to beastmen, so most are sold as pets, ornaments, or playthings. A few humans live tough lives as pirates or workers, proving themselves equal to beastmen.

The "Brass Passage" is a disciplined pirate crew. The male beastmen on board are lively and good-natured. They are famous for their high combat ability, being kind to their crew but fierce toward enemies.
